Future group mulls listing value retail entity

Kishore Biyani-led Future Group, which recently hived off its value segments, Big Bazaar and Food Bazaar, into a separate entity called Future Value retail, is now looking to list this company independently. Future Group director and CEO, Retail, Rakesh Biyani said this was one of the options the company would seriously consider for funding its growth.

CLB clears Nilgiri's rights issue, says Actis

Global private equity giant Actis is set to go ahead with the proposed Rs 35-crore rights issue to fund expansion of the retail firm Nilgiri's. The proposed rights issue had run into dispute after the family shareholders of Nilgiri's decided to move the Company Law Board (CLB) to block the rights issue.

Hosiery company, Dollar Industries expects to achieve a turnover of Rs.280 crore this fiscal, a senior official said Tuesday. The company's turnover was Rs.218.68 crore in 2008-09. It hopes to achieve Rs.280 crore by 2009-10 and Rs.350 crore by the end of 2010-11. Dollar Industries, which currently has three production units in Kolkata, Tirupur and Delhi, has joined hands with retail giant Carrefour and Lulus in the Gulf.

RJ Corp charts mega plans to venture into virgin Africa

RJ Corp, the diversified conglomerate owned by serial entrepreneur Ravi Jaipuria, is looking to expand in the unexplored, high-potential African market this year. The company, which owns PepsiCo India's biggest franchisee bottling business and also holds franchisee rights for KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants, plans to set up dairy businesses in Rwanda by the year-end and in Tanzania by mid-2010, through buyouts or greenfield ventures.
