PremjiInvest may exit Subhiksha: Sources

After ICICI Ventures wrote off its investments in Subhiksha, Azim Premjis private equity arm, PremjiInvest may be set to follow suit, sources said.It is learntthat PremjiInvest may write-off its investment in Subhiksha. PremjiInvest had bought 10% stake in Subhiksha in 2008. It had purchased the stake at Rs 230 crore from ICICI Venture. Sources said PremjiInvest is its finalising legal documents.
Keikaku set to enter India with furniture brand

The $1.7 billion Japanese retailer, Ryohin Keikaku is all set to enter the Indian retail market, with its furniture brand Muji. The single brand retailer is scouting for a partner in the retail arena and a fortnight ago a group of senior company officials visited India to study the prospects of the organised Indian furniture market.
Panasonic India opens 4th brand shop in Bangalore

Panasonic, a Japanese manufacturer of electronic and electrical products for consumer, business and industrial use, has inaugurated its fourth brand shop in at Dickenson Road in Bangalore. The brand shop will also have an after sales service counter to ensure smooth and easy communication for existing customers.

Starting on April 7 till June 9, it will span music, art, user-generated content...However, with its focus on exclusive retail stores, Levis is not about to let the spotlight stray. Just like its Regent Street store, art will find its way into 15 Levis stores that are over 3,000 square feet in size.
FCUK standalone opens in Mumbai

French Connection, Britains hi-fashion brand, has opened its free standing store at Linking Road, Bandra, Mumbai. Brand Marketing India (BMI), the exclusive licensee for FCUK in India, introduced the brand to the Indian market at the Lakme Fashion Week in April 2007 and has since opened 21 points of sale across eight cities in India.

Logan Tod & Co see shopping basket completion rates on sites vary between 25% and 45%, meaning many sites can and should improve their position. If a website is turning over $10m per year with average margin and checkout completion rates, a 5% improvement in the basket to checkout ratio could increase profit by up to $260,000.
