Pantaloon registers 51.07% rise in net

Inline with market expectations, India's largest listed retailer Pantaloons Retail India Ltd registered a consolidated net profit increase of 51.07% for the quarter-ending December 31, 2009 to touch Rs 50.67 crore as compared to Rs 33.54 crore in the corresponding quarter last financial year.

Tesco kicks off in Mumbai this year

Small biscuit firms cut retailer margin

Soaring commodity prices have put smallsized biscuit companies in a spot, as they are forced to cut retailer margins to combat input costs and stay in business. Close to 25-30 such firms, including Bonn, Priyagold and Anmol, have dropped retailer margins by 2-5 % from mid-January.
