RPG opens flagship cafe in Bangalore

The retail business of RPG group, which runs supermarkets under the Spencer brand, on Thursday, launched its first flagship cafe in Bangalore on M G Road. The cafe was launched in a franchise arrangement with Au Bon Pain, the Boston-based bakery cafe chain, which has more than 250 outlets in the USA, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.

Gitanjali Gems unit to add 40 multi-format stores

Gitanjali Lifestyle, a unit of Gitanjali Gems will add 40 multi-format stores under its 'Maya' brand over three years and expects a revenue of 10 billion rupees from multi-format stores, a top official said. The firm would spend 700-800 million rupees annually over three years for retail expansion under the 'Maya' brand, chief executive Devasish Dutta said.
