Vishal Retail's losses continue; says turning point by year-end

With dwindling sales, Vishal Retail's management is working hard to put the loss-making company's sales back on track. Even as the company has posted a loss of Rs 90 crore in its net profit for the first quarter of FY10, the management claims footfalls have increased and by the end of the year, everything would fall in place.

Kurlon looks to up growth through furniture

Kurlon Ltd, a Bangalore-based mattresses firm is foraying into the Rs 13,000 crore home, kitchen and office furniture segment. The company as part of its diversification strategy has set up a 60:40 joint venture with a family-owned little known Italian firm - Cesare, to manufacture Italian designed sofas in India. Kurlon is looking to enter kitchen and office segment during next year.
